Utility Fog Press
Utility Fog Press is a small publishing company I'm setting up that specializes in themed anthologies.
Farspace Anthology 1, which will be our first publication, involves only people (authors, editors and artists) from
Writing.Com. It contains short speculative fiction of a widely diverse nature. The planned release date is the end of September, 2008.
YouWriteOn
YouWriteOn is site where writers upload opening chapters for review. They earn further reviews of their own work by reading and reviewing others. The five top ranked reviews of the month each month are passed on to publishers to read.
Writing.com
Writing.com is an amazingly comprehensive, friendly community of writer from around the world. The site is huge. While free membership is an option, if you can afford it (and it's not that expensive) the upgraded membership is well worth the money.
National Novel Writing Month
NaNoWriMo is an annual November event that challenges writers all over the world to write 50,000 words in one month.
One Million Monkeys Typing
One million monkeys is a fun site for those who like collaborative story building. Add your snippets, collect fractions of a seed and then plant your own story (look me up on the site: Simian Simon, monkey #26).
Lulu.com
Lulu is a print-on-demand site that opens the world of publishing, for better or worse, to everyone who has wanted to see themselves in print. They also have many services other than just books (calendars, brochures, etc). It's a very useful service even if you have no intention of selling your work. The link is to my Lulu storefront.
