EH Rydberg currently lives in Harrogate, UK with his wife, daughter and cat where he enjoys writing speculative fiction. He prefers science fiction to fantasy and has found that, despite (or perhaps because of?) his atheism, his works often have religious themes. He writes short stories, novels and, when the spirit moves him, poetry.

EH Rydberg is a trained biochemist (B.Sc., Waterloo University, Canada; Ph.D., University of British Columbia, Canada; Post-doctoral studies at the Weizmann Institute, Israel and IRBM-Merck; Italy). His studies and academic interests are detailed on his professional website (uk.geocities.com/edwinrydberg. His interest in writing fiction dates to his postdoctoral period in Israel.)

A published author of numerous scientific papers, EH Rydberg was also the recipient of the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) Science Writing Prize for his story 'Through the Illusions' - a story that presents the relationship between schizophrenia and smoking at a publically accessible level. 'Through the Illusions' was subsequently translated into Italian and published as 'Attraverso il Illusioni' by the Italian popular science journal KOS.
